Stargate Origins: Catherine - Film

I found this title while I was exploring Hoopla for the first time! I have been a big fan of Stargate for a while now. I recently just finished SG-1 and Atlantis, and I didn't even know this movie had come out just a few years ago! It was fun watching the origin of the show I so enjoy. It was like putting puzzle pieces together about characters and their roles in the future movies and shows. It also felt as though they kept the original feeling of the shows in this newer movie, which I appreciate. I hope there will be more!

House on Fire - Joseph Finder

House on Fire's narrative appears inspired by what the reader suspects may be playing out behind the scenes with the real-life Sackler family... current media demons for their profligate peddling of opioid addiction and all-around, soul-crushing greed. There is also a pong wafting through the story that is reminiscent of Succession, the recent mini-series featuring a full-on dysfunctional, mega-wealthy family feud. In this fictional version of Succession: Sackler-Style, the Kimballs are the bad seed, but apparently, maybe not all of them. Enter Nick Heller, flawed hero of three previous Joseph Finder thrillers. Heller finds himself wadding through this fetid swamp of deceit, evil intent, and rich-people BS as he sniffs out the killer of a former lover and colleague all while trying to cripple Kimball Pharma. A lot on Mr Heller’s plate you might say. It’s classic Finder. Moves right along. Just enough paranoia, lots of action and looming menace. A little sexy time muddled by mixed emotions. Delightful, ripped-from-the-headlines thriller. Guaranteed to amuse and to diffuse the Corona blues

Long Range - C.J. Box

As good an excuse as any to escape yourself to Wyoming for a little R & R (reading and recreation) under the skillful guidance of C J Box. Boy howdy, did I need that! Escape in the time of corona. Great read... except it seemed to tie up all the loose ends way too fast at the end. But maybe it was just so good I didn’t want it to end.

Fantastic, easy to watch movie. Great cast of characters played by even better actors and actresses. Fun, mysterious and enjoyable. I would say almost like a modern day clue! Suggest to anyone looking to have a laid back movie night! Would suggest more of an adult or high school movie!
